Women’s History Month

Date: March 16, 2023

Join us to learn about some female paleo heroes and to celebrate Women’s History Month!

Did you know women are responsible for many important dinosaur discoveries?

In a talk at noon, learn about two historical female paleontologists: Mary Anning and Halszka Osmólska. Listen to how Anning found the first complete Plesiosaurus, or how Osmólska beat the heat of the Gobi Desert to find strange dinosaurs.

After the talk, test your hand at putting together a puzzle based on an incredible fossil found by Anning!

Don’t miss highlighting a special woman in your life on a poster that will be hung up in the museum for the rest of the month. This event is for all ages, and we highly recommend bringing moms, grandmothers, partners, and all the other important women you know!
