The newest exhibit at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm is the Lake Dixie Discovery Trail, an indoor boardwalk that takes visitors out over the original track surface to see our most spectacular tracks exactly as they were found. This large surface includes over 1200 tracks of dinosaurs and other animals as they roamed along the edge of ancient Lake Dixie. The Lake Dixie Discovery Trail nearly doubles the exhibit space in the museum, so if you have visited before, you’ll be sure to enjoy returning to experience this great new expansion!

We held the Grand Opening of the Lake Dixie Discovery Trail on Saturday, May 7th, 2016 as part of our annual Dino Day in Dixie celebration. Activities included making dinosaur masks, door prizes, and talking with real paleontologists about fossils. The Lake Dixie Discovery Trail was funded in part through grants from Utah Arts and Museums with funding from the State of Utah, as well as the Washington County Recreation, Arts, and Parks (RAP) tax.
